Came shaving sharp, as all my other Cold Steel blades. I have subjected this knife to moderate use, it has been used in lieu of a larger blade or machete to cut down saplings and cut branches. It did so in spite of its feather-light weight, and without any damage to the blade or point whatsoever, and retained excellent sharpness. The build quality is more than I can ask for for the ridiculously low price. The handle is more comfortable in some positions than others. I have been spoiled by more ergonomic handles. That being said, it functions adequately and provides ample traction.

The Cold Steel Finn Bear is a good Stainless Steel alternative to High Carbon Steel Mora Knives.
BLADE- the 4116 steel can be made razor sharp in a matter of minutes, but it is a soft budget steel, meaning it will dull quickly. Very rust resistant. It is great at cutting, carving, and slicing. It is only a partial tang.
HANDLE- the thermal plastic handle is unique and offers medium traction, but is comfortable for extended used when carving.
SHEATH- the heavy duty nylon sheath is well built and holds the knife well.
CONCLUSION- for $15 this knife can't be passed up. Extremely lightweight, and rust resistant. As a side note, the Mora Classic 1 knife is the same price and it is made in Sweden and is full tang. That is a great knife as well for camp/bushcraft.

This knife is rather surprising given it's price range, I bought it a week ago at a local gun shop that I frequent often. The Finn Bear is a cheap knife given its 10 to 15 dollar price range, but I'd like to see the cheap 20 to 30 dollar no name brand fixed blades baton through wood without breaking. This is a simple, inexpensive bushcraft knife and I'm very impressed with it. I'd like to see more offerings like this from Cold Steel. This is the cheapest knife I own, but it is in no way the lowest quality. Mine came incredibly sharp, some people may think the handle feels strange but I personally like it. Overall I'm very happy with this knife. This and the Mora knives are the cheapest, highest quality fixed blades you can own in my opinion.

This is a very nice utility or camp knife. It has a four inch stainless steel blade which was quite sharp right out of the box. The handle is some type of black, high impact plastic with a cross section that is like a shaped liked an ice cream cone. It has small ridges which give a good grip and it is comfortable to hold in my hand. The stainless blade and plastic handle combination probably make it a good tackle box knife. The knife is light weight, probably only three ounces or so. It feels very sturdy and I've used it for basic camp tasks and food prep without any trouble. The sheath isn't much, just a simple nylon pouch with a small belt loop, but it's functional. It holds the entire knife to about three quarters of the handle.
For the price, this is a great little knife. I'm considering getting another one to keep in the glove box in my car.
