My mom said she wants a big knife she can cut an apple in half with... and can be put inside her purse... (she works in a remote tropical forest) And I bought the Voyager XL in plainedge, clip point.

I find it is a great value of a knife, this big! stonewashed blade, tri-ad lock, very, VERY SHARP! I do like the AUS-8 for it's properties.

For a knife this big, it amaze me that it didn't that hard to open or close (two handed). another plus for my mom...
But, with a knife this big, precautions shall be made, as the blade is quite heavy, and the spring tension from the backlock can act as a guillotine. I cut myself already.

I have this knife, and I have to say, it does not feel as big as it is, it is a superbly designed knife with amazing ergonomics and is well worth the price
