Comments:
I bought a Gerber MK II when they first came out. I still have it and it's a bit dinged up from years of use, but it has never failed to answer up when I asked it to do something. In camping uses I've cut wood, shaved off shavings for the fire, sawed through limbs, opened cans and so on. All the usual stuff connected with camping.
I think the only thing that ever irritated me was that these old leather holsters had tanning acid in the leather. Don't store your Mark II in the holster for any long period or you may find some marks from the acid working on the blade. You can buff it back up to snuff, but it's something I wish I'd known back in the day.
I made one small modification to it. I wet a thong and wrapped it super tight around the handle, twisting it as I wrapped it so I'd have a very rough gripping surface. Then in case your usage got your hand wet there is no slippage.

All I can say i WOW! why use a dagger or double edge knife for camp Chores ? Thats what a single edge knife is used for. Very Interesting
