Comments:
I've had my Sprint Run Rookie for about three and a half weeks. I carry it everyday along with a byrd Robin.
The foliage green G10 handles on the Rookie are textured and provide a good grip. There is no jimping anywhere on the knife. I was concerned that I might not like that but I really haven't missed the jimping so far. The Rookie is a very slim knife. I have a few pairs of Wrangler Riggs Contractor jeans which have an oversized watch pocket and the Rookie rides horizontally in that pocket and I don't even know it is there. I removed the pocket clip for this purpose. The VG10 blade was very sharp out of the box and I still have not had to sharpen it yet despite the fact that the knife has seen a fair amount of light to medium duty usage. I had to put some locktite on the pivot screw to keep it from coming loose but since I did that the action is smooth and hasn't lost its adjustment. In my opinion, the Rookie is an excellent knife and I really like the blade shape. Lockup is strong with no blade play. I think the Sprint Run Rookie was released in early 2008 and I couldn't believe there were still some of them available. If you want one, better get it soon. A fine knife indeed.
