My thrusted swick! i use this knife as a neck knife. It's a great knife, relatively light, and with the finger hole it is rock solid in the hand. The sheath holds the knife very well, i never lost it. it disappears under a t-shirt or shirt and it's wickedly sharp. I wished they would made it in H1 and it would be perfect! At night it's the only type of clothing i wear!

I have 3 versions of this knife, and i am not the person to buy a knife i really don't like twice. It has all the great features the endura has with the added assisted opening.

The assisted opening works flawless, even to the point that trying to retrieve the knife without flipping the blade out is sometimes arkward. This means it will startle sheeple if you draw the knife. once drawn they have no idea why the hook is there so i tell them it's a bottle opener. This is the best, if not a better imho, alternative for an automatic knife. No springs or mechanical linkage to break, jusst clever engineering in a perfectly legal package with possibly more speed then an automatic. No need to fumble trying to find the trigger, just draw the knife and it's deployed.

Just about perfect. For $46 it is a great bang for your buck. Blade just a little off center or it would be perfect.

The Manix 2 is a fantastic knife made in Golden CO by Spyderco. The Ergos on this knife are very well thought out. It feels greats in just about every grip. I really like the choil it allows for detailed cutting without being afraid that your hand is going to slip. The G10 is very grippy on your hands excpet it kills your pants so it's a trade off. I would have prefered for this knife to have skeletonized liners but the full liners give it a nice beefy feel that I like. Some say that 5 oz is a little heavy for EDC but I really don't notice the extra weight. The clip allows it to carry fairy low in the pocket but still allows you to pull it out easily. One of my favorite parts about this knife is the lock. The Caged Ball Bearing Lock is amazing. It's super smooth so you can open it as fast or in many cases faster than most knives. It is easier to open then my Endura and Tenacious. Once it does lock up it feels like a vault, not even a bit of play in any direction. The lock is not super easy to use though. It is not like the Axis lock in the way that you can easily unlock it. It takes much more effort than the Axis lock but you can still close it with one hand easily. The steel is 154CM and I love it. I would have prefered S30V but i'm really enjoying using the 154CM it's still shaving sharp out of the box and i've had it for a little over a week and have not had to touch it up a bit. I have broken down 4-5 large cardboard boxes and the edge is holding up really well. If you do have the extra money I would go for the new sprint run of this knife the Blue G10 and FFG S30V blade, but for the $80 price tag you can't really beat the Manix 2 with 154CM.

i have an original pre ontario piece that i picked up on the secondary market. fit and finish is much better than the current production okc pieces. blanaces well in the hand, almost the perfect blade to handle ratio. the 6150 steel holds an incredible edge and is very tough for batoning duties.

Comments:

Just picked this up a few days back. The name is very appropriate as this is truly a knife paired down to the bare minimum in terms of size.

Initial quality was good. One of the handle scales was slightly loose but this was easily fixed by tightening the torx-head grip screws. The zytel sheath allowed for a small amount of "rattle" or play with the blade inserted but retains the knife well. Holding the sheath, I attempted to throw the knife free and the sheath held the knife securely.

The handle is very well designed with deep finger grooves and comfortable jimping on the back of the blade to give the thumb control. I am generally not a fan of knives that only accomodate a three finger grip, but the Minimalist's grip is different.

The wharncliff style blade excells at random utility-oriented tasks such as opening packaging, cutting out articles, etc. although the 2" blade length can be a hinderance to accomplishing other common jobs such as cutting an apple, etc. The blade was shaving sharp out of the box and possesses a needle-like point that pierces very efficiently.

Overall, I am very pleased with the Minimalist having carried it for about a week. I would recommend it as a good choice for an urban utility neck knife/EDC type blade.

The SOG Flash II has been in my EDC rotation for nearly a year. It is definitely one of the least expensive folders I own and I paid under $40 for it. With that in mind, I think it's an exceptional buy. The knife has a solid lock up and decent ergos (better than my Kershaw Blur). I'm not crazy about the handle material, but it does make this folder the lightest by far that I own. The pocket clip is mounted flush with the end of the handle, so none of the knife is showing outside of your pocket (except for the clip, which I would prefer a blackened one instead of the silver). In terms of performance, it cuts well and is awfully handy as a utilitarian blade. It could be use in a pinch for self defense, but it would not be my first choice for that role.

I had this item one day and then returned it. When I received it the pliers were not closing right. The tools felt weak and too small for what I use my multitool for and the tool overall felt too small for heavy duty use. After 2 hours of using it the pliers were extremely difficult to open because they became jammed closed, I had broken the saw in half and the broken part flew off and cut me. I know I am different from the majority of people when it comes to my opinion of this tool but this review is just my opinion.

This is an awesome folder. It is perfectly finished, perfectly made, and perfectly engineered. The grinds are exceptional and it cuts great. The pivot bushing system is genius. This knife will stand up to heavy use and even some abuse. The only down side to this knife is the price, but you pay for what you get and I feel it is price accordingly.

So if you think it's worth the price, why did you give it a 5/10 on value? herp derp

I have owned the Chinook for a couple of years now. If you don't mind carrying a relatively heavier folder, this knife is exceptional! It performs well in slicing and pearcing. The lock up is solid and in short, the knife is built like a tank. I have complete confidence in the locking mechanism and think that this is a good option when carrying a fixed blade is not appropriate. Not the cheapest or lightest folder, but definitely a performer.

My new EDC. I have several knives in my collection: other Benchmades, SOGs, Spydercos, Gerbers, etc. This is my new favorite. Very light. Rock solid. And I find that I like the auto-assist feature more than I thought I would. If you are looking for 3.5" folder you'll be very happy with this one.
