Reviewing: SOG Trident in digicamo w/black part serrated TiNi blade.
Overall, I am very pleased with this knife. The knife comes sharp out of the box and is very thin, light, and attractive/stylish. The digi-camo pattern is a nice change from the usual black which is a common standard for tactical/edc folders.
Arc-lock actuator works smoother on this Trident model than on the Flash 2 which I also reviewed.
Assisted open is quite fast and fun way to pass time :)
Materials wise, the handle is basically a textured plastic or "Zytel" to be fancy, but it is light and that is what this knife is going for, a VERY thin, VERY light tactical folder which I believe can be used for EDC every day carry, cutting anything from rope to boxes, but also that blade is long and threatening enough to be used as a tactical defense blade. The tip of the blade is a clip point and quit thin and sharp, so piercing is no issue if you're into that kinda stuff..
Lastly, the slot for cutting twine/rope is best for very thin line but can come in handy, although I would rather just flick open the nice blade and cut normally.
Overall, I would give this SOG trident an 8/10 and recommend you pick it up in a cool color option despite them being half serrated (tiger stripe blade, digi camo, desert camo)

I bought my first Trident as a Police Officer in Tiger. Sog was great to deal with and gave me a discount. After years of use, not a single problem. Aus 8 isn't a super steel, however, it is so easy to maintain. In the real world, it holds its edge and sharpening is quick. Over the years, the action has become quicker and smoother. Yes, I have a huge knife collection with everything from CRK sabenza to microtechs, etc. I carry it because I'm not stressed about it. It's so lite, I forget it is there. So, I flew into Chicago during the recent tension. My son and I were closing up a home and driving the contents 1400 miles via Penske truck. I didn't have a knife, so while I was picking up the truck at a Home depot, I bought another black Trident. We went to a Walmart and my son wanted another knife and some travel food. When we picked up the truck, there was a lot of tension due to the shootings and the black lives matter movement. On the way out, my son and I picked up three men in their 20's casing us. They waiting for us to check out and fell right behind us on the way out. Body liquistics were a giveaway, so I pulled the cart over to the side in Walmart. I took out the Trident and opened my son's knife and handed him. Our escorts stopped and decided we weren't worth it. They went the other way. The Trident is big enough for utility and self defense but lite enough so it disappears in your pocket.

Paul, you must be ignorant if you cannot write a proper review. You must have either scored a 23 on the ASVAB or just cannot properly articluate thoughts into words.I would have appreciated an actual, intelligible, review of the knife; oh sorry, "plastic" piece of crap.

sog trident had been in my edc rotation for around a year now, and i love it. its a great lightweight tactical around the same quality as a spyderco endura. i glued the safety off as i have no need for it, and added a lanyard. the pocket clip gets caught on the lip of my jeans pocket, but the lanyard makes for a fast, easy draw. the arc accuator wiggles a bit, but the blade locks up solid. i reccomend this knife for a mid grade self defence or light cutting tool.

I bought the tanto or drop-point edge.. far more versatile and rugged I've had mine a few months and I use it on a daily basis is my tinkering and such.I found myself using this knife more and more as time went on because of my love for the blade, which I recommend the tanto, great for prying(if needed)it doesn't leave you with the fear of the tip breaking off.overall I give it a 9/10 wit hthe tanto blade
