I have a yellow serrated Aqua Salt and use it for scuba diving. It fits perfectly in the hand and the factory serrations are very sharp. It feels very high quality overall, but I'm not a huge fan of the spyderco G-lock sheath. The knife is also quite large (~4.5 inch blade). The fact that the blade contains no carbon and therefore cannot rust is also pretty awesome.

Quite a pricey and beautiful knife this one, as a result it took me a few days before i actually committed myself to use it, and I'm glad I did. The rock lobster is a real work horse, it is great for heavy duty slicing and I am actually really digging the modified sheepsfoot blade shape the lack of a defined point hasn't posed a problem for me so far. The build quality is perfect the knife really is a thing of beauty. The liner locks up tight with no hint of blade wiggle as you expect from Spyderco. However, the ergonomics don't quite fit perfectly in my hand the choil section is way to big for one of my fingers but to small for 2 of them however i still found it reasonably comfortable to hold the knife by positioning my hand further back. Overall its a great knife and I hope that it sticks around for a while so I can pick up another one when I wear this one out

This has quickly become one of my favorite edc knives. The ergonomics are perfect, the handle is one of the most comfortable I have experienced and the angle of the blade lines up with your wrist when cutting. It is probably the best slicer I own and great fun to show to people. My only complaint is the liner lock is a bit hard to disengage for me, I would like to see it in a slip joint version. Great knife

I had good expectations for this knife, but unfortunately, didn't care for it. Fit and finish were very poor. I had the G-10 version, and the scale edges were not all completely smoothed out, making it uncomfortable to hold. Liner lock release was sharp in the jimping, and also too short, pinching your finger against the sharp G-10 edge at every closing. I expected better from Spyderco quality control. Can't speak for the steel; it was too uncomfortable to hold to cut anything. Quickly I gave it away to a collector of this brand.

I got this knife at Walmart for about $40. Usual Kershaw quality fit & finish in this small knife. A bit heavy for its size, but not overly so. After tweaking the pivot screw, it flips open smooth as butter and locks up tight with no blade play. Lots of fun to play with. Everyone I show it to thinks the grooves in the blade are really cool, but those grooves are kind of hard to clean after cutting something like electrical tape. Kershaw's new Sandvik 14C28N seems like an improvement over the already excellent 13C26N; easy to sharpen, good edge retention. Three clip positions (no left tip-down) add versatility to this little casual carry or backup blade. I like this knife.

Very good knife for the money. The G-10/VG-10 version is a great buy for around $100.

I bought this knife while deployed to Iraq in 2003. I still have it and keep it on hand anytime I need to report to duty. The knife is easy to use and opens fairly well. (until you get to much sand stuck in those hard to reach places) I mainly did small tasks with this knife such as rip open sand bags or MRE meals, I didn't use it on insurgents. I have fairly large hands, yet I found it easy to grip and use. The blade keeps it's edge as long as any other I've owned and it's well balanced for such a large knife. I definitely recommend this blade.

Comments:

In my quest for a practical no-nonsense pocket knife with a serrated front and plain edged rear blade, I found this pocket knife.

The "Soldatenmesser 08" in Swiss Army nomenclature is a well thought out, sturdy, nicely finished knife. All 6 folding parts work properly.

The Soldier Knife 08 features an 111 mm (4.4 in) long ergonomic handle with two-component polymer grip shells and a double liner locking system, one-hand 86 mm (3.4 in) long locking partly serrated drop point blade, wood saw, can opener with small 3 mm screwdriver, locking bottle opener with large 7 mm screwdriver and wire stripper/bender, reamer, Phillips (PH2) screwdriver and key ring. The overall length opened is 197 mm (7.8 in) and it weighs 126 g (4.44 oz).

The blade can be opened with one hand by an adult user and works equally well for left and right-handed users. In addition, the opening hole offers the possibility to open the blade with gloves.

When the blade and the bottle opener with 7 mm screwdriver and wire stripper are locked by the liner locking mechanism the locks produce a clearly audible click.

The handle is composed of multiple materials. The black outer edge of the scales is made of an anti skid polymer. The inside of the scales is made of smoother hard polymer, with included slightly elevated black anti skid materiel parts. This combination of materials provides sufficient grip with dry and wet hands.

A critical remark that could be made is that the Phillips screwdriver does not state it has a PH2 head. Losable components that could weaken the grip, such as tweezers and a tooth-pick, are absent in this knife.

Possibly one of the best,if not the best knife I've ever owned. The CPM D2 blade takes a wicked edge and will hold it.The G10 handles are grippy but not to grippy, just right. It fits the hand well.Very nice fit and finish. The liner lock locks up early with no blade play in either direction what so ever.Way to go Kershaw on a great knife.

This is an ok every day carry knife. It has a lightweight FRN handle, vg-10 steel blade, and a lockback design.

The blade is nicely shaped, the knife holds an edge well, the knife sits in the pocket nicely, and the knife is comfortable to use. The Delica is a reasonably priced knife as well.

My only complaint with the knife is with the lockback design. The Spyderco lockback design for this knife (and other knives such as the Endura) allows for overextension of the blade past the point of lockout. The tip of the blade moves maybe 1/16 of an inch at most past the point of lockout.

This does not compromise the functionality of the knife, nor does it stop the lockback from doing its job. However, it just irks me to have this blade play. The blade play is not based on machining tolerances when making the knife, it is inherent to the lockback design. Because of this, I have rated this knife a 6 overall.
