The ESEE Izula is a great little blade. It is strong, tough, and has it where it counts. The Izula is even better when paired with G-10 handles scales, and is the perfect companion for your "Large Survival Knives," hatchets, or on its own. You can't go wrong with this little Ant.

Great Knife with a great sheath. Most people break these because they don't know WTF their doing. If you beat on a knife like a caveman expect bad things to happen but if you learn how to use your tools they will last you.

Schrade SCHF9 Extreme Survival Knife

-Price Paid: $42.00
-Used for Outdoor/Survival
-Owned for 3 months

Comments:

The Schf9 is on tough blade, the 1095HC steel is great, and 1/4in. thick spine makes batoning a breeze, and the 15.9oz. makes it a good chopper. My only two complaints are that the handle is too thick and is not comfort for extended cutting casks and the sheath is low quality. Overall $40 is a great price and this thing is indestructible so I can overlook the thick handle and low quality sheath.

Comments:

It's a neat little knife. I have had great experiences in the past with Blade Tech's gun holsters. I have also used both Blade Tech's Molle-Lok and Tek-Lok for knife sheaths and have been very pleased. As such, I decided to try one of their knives out since they are cheap enough. While it's no Spyderco, it gets the job done. The ergos are good and the blade deployment mechanism is excellent (essentially a slightly differently shaped spyderco style hole). The knife holds an edge alright. The only thing I don't love is the recurve blade. I always find these to be a little bit awkward when sharpening. Anyways, cool budget knife but I wouldn't rely on it to save my life or anything.

The Ontario SP45 Golok Machete has really surprised me. The knife preformed how I expected it would when it came to batoning and cutting tasks. Where the SP45 blew me away was in the chopping power it had for only weighing 10.6oz. This blade can chop better then a lot of other knives out on the market that weigh more. The SP45 is very well balanced and now is my go to feather weight chopper. OKC did an awesome job with the overall design of the SP45 and at an awesome price of around $60 it is worth every penny!

Man alive! I really hesitated before pulling the trigger on this purchase. I thought it was too expensive on the secondary market. I even thought about getting a clone, but after handling a genuine Hinderer, I gave in ...and am I ever glad I did! There is simply not another knife like this. The only advice I can give is to not handle one. After that experience few other knives will ever get your attention.

Comments:

The Ontario RAT 1A is the updated version of the classic RAT 1. This knife has been given G-10 Handles and an Assisted Opening feature other then that it is the same blade as the original. The Assisted Opening is fast and smooth and G-10 gives you good grip, the problem I have is the price. At $48 it places itself in a whole new ball park of knives that offer better steels and lighter weight. The new RAT1A is not a bad knife but at $48 is doesn't offer enough to stand out in a crowd. I am 50/50 on the RAT1A where I still am in love with my original at $28.

I like this knife because it is super simple and locks open. I think this is more comfortable than a lot of the old swiss army knives because of the handle shape. The lock works well and I occasionally make use of the corkscrew (because I like wine haha). The blade is very sharp, and hasn't gotten dull on my yet. The knife is a little too big for my keychain, so I just keep it sitting loose in my pocket. Nobody seems to get offended when I use it because it looks pretty benign, which is nice because sometimes I have to use it at work to open letters or packages. It's a good knife.

I have to say that I'm very impressed with the quality of this knife. Materials and fit

The SOG Trident Elite is a great offering from SOG this year. They have improved off the original design, and give us a knife with a fantastic blade design that is perfect for stabbing or slicing. They have add rubber inlays on the handle, a glass breaker, and a loop over pocket clip. This knife is well worth a purchase.
