Have owned this knife since 2006. Carry it everyday. Best one I have owned in a 50 year lifetime of carrying a pocketknife. Sharpens quickly with a soft Arkansas stone. Holds an edge longer than other knives I have owned. One of its best features is that it can be taken completely apart for cleaning with a small phillips-head screwdriver. Another great feature is that the opening tension can be easily adjusted. I do a lot of home improvement and salt water fishing. The knife handles it all with ease. No rust. After almost eight years of pretty hard use, I would have broken the point off of a lesser blade. Definitely worth the money. Do not use the wave feature. It works about half the time. The rest of the time it just make cutting your finger off that much easier.

Machine marks on liners, badly centred blade, gritty deployment , lock rock (play) and sticky lock, the ti liner lock is to soft and wears quickly . It wears especially quickly when snapped open using the wave

Oh and the steel is very soft (poor heat treat?) I've had numerous knives that had none of these proplems , some of which are under £20 dollars - sanremu to name 1.

Over rated, and over hyped by people who won't admit their knife that they spent a fair bit of money is total dog s£

Very honest and realistic review. People are generally hesitant to criticize famous brands. Thank you for having shared his experience with us.

I picked up a Mini CQC-7 (a 2008 version, as stamped on the blade)on a whim over a year ago and have carried it litterally every day since. The size is perfect for every day carry and its strong as a tank.

The liner lock is thick and perfectly centered; the blade locks open rock solid and there is no play whatsoever. The wave feature works perfectly and I can open the knife as I pull it from my pocket faster than someone else can open an auto.

The blade is thick and the chisel grind is amazingly sharp. I know some people don't like the chisel grind, but once you actually use it you cannot argue with the performance. I have used this knife to stab, cut and pry and it simply keeps on going. The blade is also easy to sharpen and retains its edge very well. As an LEO, I have used the tanto tip to actually stab through doorframes, car window glass and the metal around a metal shed door, among other things. I've used the blade to make tent stakes, clean fish, cut flex cuffs, ropes, seatbelts...you name it, this little knife does it all. The finish of the blade is black and now carries signs of wear such as scratches and wear marks, but overall the finish is very durable. I actually like the way the blade has worn; it gives the knife some personality if you ask me. I also work / live by the ocean where it is salty and humid...but this knife has shown no signs of rust on either the blade or liners (I do clean and lube the knife periodically, but not really consistently, so this shows that the knife's finish is very durable in salty / humid environments that usually play havoc on other knives).

The G-10 handle is grippy and is a good fit in the hand. I added a bit of lanyard to extend the grip, but it really isn't needed. The overall grip size is simply perfect for a moderatly small folder and fits my hand well. I am able to get plenty of purchase on the grip for even extreme cutting or stabbing tasks (as listed in the blade section above).

I am a hard user of knives, and this little knife has exceeded my expectations in every way. It is well worth the money and comes with a lifetime warranty. Like I mentioned before, I hadn't even been interested in the kife at first and just picked it up as a second thought...and it has become my constant companion. You cannot go wrong with this knife.

Well let's see I bought this Mini CQC7 after all the hype I had heard on the forums and I was expecting a incredible knife. The design stinks first off because of the Chisel grind it tilts while cutting, the handle is blocky, bulky and umcomfortable, the liner lockbar is paper thin and accidentally disengaged, the wave feature doesn't work a good 30-40% of the time and I would not dare try to use it in a self defense type situation, the socalled satin finish is just silver colored blade coating that scratched all up and EKI won't refurbish it. What a joke! He has the nerve to call these the number one hard use knives in the world!?! Give me a break. Oh yeah let's not forget the 154cm steel. Most other knives at that pricepoint are atleast s30v. I can comfortably say that this is easily one of the worst buys I have made in knives.

Think of a Emerson as a old American muscle car. It will need some work to get up and going again. I love my emerson horseman so much, the Ti lock may be thin but it's made right. My ZT0200 had a liner lock as thick as a framelock but it failed easily, my emerson has never failed once. Again it will take some work to get it going, I suggest taking it apart and clean it and grease/oil it.
