This is such a great blade I bought it twice!! I owned this knife a year ago, and traded it for another. I missed it so much I bought it again. This blade was designed for edc use and is a champ at it. Very lightweight, fast at deployment, very thin blade for wonderful slicing, deep ride pocket clip,

The Buck 110 is an American classic. People like to talk about how heavy the 110 is. For a pocket knife it is heavy I agree completely. But it's design is probably the best all around use knife ever made created by buck. People say the blade is hard to sharpen. Don't let it get dull because steel is so great and hArd it's tough to sharpen. If you sharpen the blade down which I've never done send it to buck they will put a brand new blade on it.

The S30V steel blade is made in USA which takes and keeps a wicked sharp edge. I love the lock mechanism which IMO improves safety. The style is a fantastic blend of old style elegance and new design appeal with all the right features. The color in the G-10 scales add a touch of refinement that appeals to me. Does not slip in the hand and seems very durable. It has what they call "flow through" build which means the back spine of the handle is open so dirt, pocket trash and etc. does not collect there and pack in like older knives. IMO this is a real jewel! For me it was a great purchase I would do again.

Great survival/camping/hunting/hiking machete. I love this thing! It isn't too large, so as to not be a problem when just on everyday hikes. It will eat small trees and firewood like a champ. Overall balance is great, and with the notch in the blade you can perform more delicate tasks by placing your two forefingers into it. The saw on the back is alright, though not very useful. I have had many people say they were able to reshape it into a more effective saw. I wouldn't be caught in the woods without one! It will take the abuse given to it with a smile. The black does wear off with time, nothing is forever, but don't let that hinder you since it is still pretty easy maintenance. If you need something for the woods whether you're a pro or new this is your tool. The sheath takes some getting used to, but it is the best way to store the blade overall. I have seen some custom sheaths floating around the net, but IMO the one it comes with is the best.

Gerber Bear Grylls Ultimate Survival Knife

-Price Paid: $35.00

Comments:

I've seen that many people have underrated this knife.I am not a knife collector or so but i am a survivalist and i appreciate a good built knife.I am very pleased with the results as i have tormented this knife in every way possible. After all my tests with mud, fire, water, snow etc. i can still perform incredibly well with this knife.I haven't even sharpened it since i got it and i still can split logs easily. The smasher on the back of the knife is very efficient and well built as i can crush many objects easily.I also liked the fire starter that came with it.You can produce really good sparks with it and shave it off easily. But i cannot say the same things about the sheath. The plastic lock for locking the knife in the sheath snapped off while i was hammering the knife through a log. This is VERY disappointing considering that this set is built for SURVIVAL situations. But i liked that there is a sharpener on the back of the sheath. As the ergonomics of this knife,it is nearly perfect but after continuously using it for 30 mins or so it becomes difficult to handle it.The whistle on the end of the knife is totally pointless as it clangs around while you use your knife so eventually i took it off.I live in Turkey and they sell these knives around 150$ here so i purchased this knife in the States for 35 bucks so it was a real bargain!
It was the best 35$ i ever spent in my life! This is truly the Glock of knives!!!

The KA-BAR Full Size Fighting/Utility USMC Knife has been around since WWII, and the big question is can it still hold its own in this new era for specialty blades or it is too old? This knife is not the best at any one thing, but it is a Jack of all trades.

Pro- price, quality, options in blade

Have owned this knife since 2006. Carry it everyday. Best one I have owned in a 50 year lifetime of carrying a pocketknife. Sharpens quickly with a soft Arkansas stone. Holds an edge longer than other knives I have owned. One of its best features is that it can be taken completely apart for cleaning with a small phillips-head screwdriver. Another great feature is that the opening tension can be easily adjusted. I do a lot of home improvement and salt water fishing. The knife handles it all with ease. No rust. After almost eight years of pretty hard use, I would have broken the point off of a lesser blade. Definitely worth the money. Do not use the wave feature. It works about half the time. The rest of the time it just make cutting your finger off that much easier.

The SOG Flashback is a new twist on the old Flash II. It is a new twist on an old design as well as some new innovations!
GOOD- lightweight of its size, very fast open assist, deep ride pocket clip, great traction.
BAD- ergonomics are not to my liking.

This knife is a great fixed blade accomplice to my small Sebenza Insingo which is my EDC. It performs exceptionally well as a general purpose knife both in the field and at home, The sheath is excellent. Just as the Sebenza I can't fault this blade in its design and quality.

I got this knife from Derrick at KSF over a year ago. I like buying from there as the shop is local (within 25 miles - even though they're actually mostly known for their online store) and the honesty and customer service is outstanding and unsurpassed in my experience. Derrick put this tool in my hand and I was immediately hooked. The ergos on this handle were perfect for me. I was sold on it initially for this almost alone. I am an ergonomics specialist in health care so what I later experienced shocked me. I have had several people with vastly different hands handle this tool and all have been impressed by its finish but also its fit in hand. This is unusual and, as I said, surprising as everyone is going to have different needs ergonomically. Another thing that I liked was the thickness of the blade. I have since changed my views on this - I now think it's a little overkill and probably will buy the Bravo 1 light version in cpm 3v, but I couldn't dock points fairly as it was what I wanted at the time I bought it. It was also shaving-sharp out of the box. I have the A2 version and have read much about its chipping, so I asked Derrick about this. His response was "Go ahead and use it hard." Evidently BRKT has a lifetime no questions asked warranty on their knives, so I put it head to head with some other knives I had.
I took my Cold Steel G.I. Tanto, Zero Tolerance ZT170, Ontario Marine Raider, Ken Warner Large Hunter and a few others (I can't remember the others at the moment) and did some chopping, batoning, caring feather sticks and the like on some old seasoned lilac wood ranging from 2 to 3 inches thick or more.
while the others dulled somewhat or micro-chipped (the ZT), the Bravo had no chips of any kind and still appeared to be as sharp as when it came out of the box - shaving-sharp. I have since used it for various camp-related activities and also carry it in the bush with me on hikes and it has performed flawlessly. Even with its thickness, it is one of my favorite knives along with a BRKT re-handled Fallkniven F1.

I own quite a few knives both folders and fixed blade. Simply said this is my favorite knife. I use it as my EDC over Strider, Spyderco, Benchmade, Kershaw, CRKT, Buck, etc. I simply love the build on this knife. It fits my hand perfectly, it opens easily, it is incredibly sharp. In my opinion it is the perfect EDC knife.

The full sized Skirmish is a bit large for me for EDC. With that said it is an awesome folder. Well made and extremely strong. Whats not to love about a titanium handle and S30V blade steel. Highly recommend it if you can find them anymore.
