Very nice blade. The liners are thin and the liner-lock takes some getting used to. There's a certain way you have to adjust your fingers so you can close the knife one-handed. But once that's down, it's reasonably easy. The handle undercuts the liner, so for heavy usage it might hurt a bit after awhile if you rest your thumb at the top of the handle. I could see using gloves, or an entirely different knife, though, if it comes to that.

The reason I got sold on this knife is the amazing grind on the blade. I can see why push-cuts would be nice on the tip, and cutting rope and finer work reserved to the hollow grind on the recurve, where it accelerates your cut as you approach the tip. Just a nice functional blade, and the micarta handle is very nice to the touch.

The liners and lock and ergonomics of the handle means it won't be for heavy usage, but the looks and the nice grind of the blade makes it a joy to use anyway. There's a uniqueness to it. More character than most EDC's.

well how to start,

i bought it for the design, it's my 2nd SOG, and even though AUS 8 is my favorite steel for light use it's just fine, came really sharp and i maintened it that way by stropping

i loved and still do the ergos on it is well built but with flaws mainly the liners are thin and bite into your and the micarta slabs are low cut sow they won't protect either, too bad, but it flies open it sleces like a lighsaber and it's just such a lovable imperfect thing

now the real problem:
i tried to change the pocket clip side (lefty thing) on the 4 screws 3 failed it's now back into sog hands let's see how they do customer service!!

The SOG Kiku is a knife that could be a home run, but strikes-out with the follow through. The design of the knife is really nice and stands out from the crowd. It has micarta handle scales that are unique. The problem is the price for the 3.5in at $75 and the VERY thin liners that are uncomfortable in you hand and make the liner lock VERY thin. All in all a great idea and design, but bad follow through.

Dude, I was about to not buy this knife because of your rating of it. Then I saw your grammar and spelling and realized I shouldn't take your review seriously.
