In need of a new hunting knife recently I was drawn to the SOG Revolver Hunter since it had a built in saw. When it first arrived I was not too impressed with the sheath, and that was quickly replaced. However the knife was sharp, well balanced, and light. I took it on an elk hunt a few months after getting it, since that is what I bought it for. After getting an elk, I began to dress it with this knife and was not disappointed. It cut well, the gut hook performed as was supposed to, and even in the end it was still very sharp. I was very impressed that I was able to dress an entire large animal without having to change blades. The saw worked great to, and made it easy to quarter. I did add some paracord through the loop on the handle, and was glad I did since it was so cold where we hunted. While the knife might feel a bit flimsy at first, mine had no wobble as I dressed my animal, and I was able to put just as much pressure on the knife as I would any full tang series knife. Clean up is a little bit trickier however, there were chunks of misc. stuff where the knife splits in the handle that were a little too hard to get out in the field. To me however, that is it's only flaw and I can see myself using this little diddy for the next few years.
